The Porsche 996 Turbo and C4S model was designed and built with high performance braking in mind. However, this amazing platform has now become a popular vehicle for the track use. With track racing comes the needs for improved braking over what the stock 4piston 330mm brakes can handle. Brake engineering at the simplest is about how you can have clamping force over a large surface area and dissipate the heat to keep the brakes from fading. What Agency Power has engineered is a Plus 1 Bracket Kit which allows you to take the factory 4piston 330mm brakes and upgrade to the 350mm OEM rotors that are found on the Porsche 997 Turbo. This bracket kit is essentially a spacer that goes between your caliper and the wheel carrier to allow your caliper to fit over the larger rotors. The larger rotors will give you increased surface area to provide you better braking and longer pad life. Our brackets are CNC machined 6061 aluminum to keep the weight down. Since this is an important safety component, we have had the brackets hard anodized. The kit includes longer bolts needed to install as well as new washers. We have had so much success with our Agency Power bolt in roll/harness bar for the 996/997 that we decided it was time to make one for the 991 Carrera. The 996/997 bar fit all models of the 911 chassis including the Carrera, Turbo, GT3, GT2. The 991 chassis will be the same which gives us the advantage to have a product for all models of the new 2013 and up 911. Considered a harness bar, the bolt-in unit gives the driver something to secure their racing harnesses to for track days while giving that GT3 race look. What makes the other roll bars for the previous generation hard to sell is the shipping. Since they are all 1 piece hoops with removable harness and diagonal bars, they have to ship on a pallet via truck freight. Domestically this can cost up to $300 and international shipping can be thousands! Diversifying our product for the Porsche 991 Carrera, we made the all 1818 steel tube bolt-in bar to have extremely strong slip fit connections. On the 996/997 bar, you had to remove the front seats to install it. Though we made it slightly lower to accomondate sunroof models, the chance of scratching something on install was prevalent. In designing this 991 harness bar | roll bar, we aimed to make it even more user efficient and friendly. Having created similar items for other vehicles using this design, it allows for a super easy install or quick removal. The top hoop is connected to the b-pillars with a slip fit design and quick release pins. Using the lower seat belt mount on the b-pillar with a stout steel bracket, this allows for the seat to be position and reclined far back to accomondate up to a 6Ɖ driver. Continuing on the path of performance modularity for the Porsche 991 Carrera, Agency Power now has their new center muffler X-Pipe exhaust.This exhaust is designed to be modular with the rest of the stock exhaust system. To keep all pieces OEM fitting the same, like the factory center muffler, this exhaust is designed to work with the factory oval tips that are connected from the 2nd mufflers. The exhaust was tested on a Porsche 991 Carrera S with the stock headers and secondary mufflers mated to the new center X-Pipe exhaust. The baseline of the car has a very waivy ride through the RPM band. From 3000rpm to 6400rpm the car made consistant power. From 3800-4200rpm the car made huge gains of torque! The rest of the curve yielded about a 20hp gain until it ran out of steam near redline. In regards to the sound, the XPipe alone made for a really crisp tone that can be tolerated to even the most sensitive driver. Being that it made this sports car more sporty, it makes the 991 more enjoyable for daily driving. In addition to the great sound and power, the rear XPipe also saves about 20lbs off the rear end of the car. Continuing on the path of performance modularity for the Porsche 991 Carrera, Agency Power now has their new center muffler X-Pipe exhaust. Like Agency Power's Porsche 991 headers and 2nd Muffler Bypass Pipes, this exhaust is also interchangeable with the stock parts. To keep all pieces OEM fitting the same, like the factory center muffler with its 3rd chamber, Agency Power has incorporated a separate exhaust pipe that comes off near the X design. This floats behind the exhaust tip for a full stock look. We tested the center pipe in conjunction with each stock part of the 991 Carrera to hear the difference in sound and see the affects on the performance. The first test on the Porsche 991 was with the stock headers and secondary mufflers mated with the new center X-Pipe exhaust. The baseline of the car has a very waivy ride through the RPM band.
